Hal Bidlack is officially announcing his candidacy on Wednesday, April 2, at 12 noon. The announcement will be held in the Carnegie Room of the Penrose Library (20 N. Cascade Avenue).
Here's the text of Hal's invitation to the event:
Dear Friends,
On Wednesday, April 2, I will officially launch my campaign to serve as Representative from Colorado's 5th Congressional District (El Paso, Teller, Fremont, Chaffee, Lake, and Park counties). I'd like to invite you to join me as I make this important announcement.
Every election is important, but none more so than the one to be held this November. Our country faces extraordinary challenges and opportunities. The choices we make this year will have a profound and lasting impact on the futures of our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
We must take decisive action to restore our Nation's strength — our economic and political strength and the strength of our commitment to who we are and what America stands for.
My background and experience have prepared me well to serve the people of the 5th Congressional District at this critically important point in our history:
I served the United States as a proud member of our Air Force for more than 25 years. I understand America's security needs, and I am committed to achieving our goals of greater stability, safety, and peace. And it is time we return to honoring the Bill of Rights.
Colorado has been my home for 15 years. I love this place. I will work to protect the unmatched natural environment that is our heritage and our most important legacy to future generations.
We must simultaneously create jobs to secure our citizens' futures while rebuilding Colorado's manufacturing base in a sustainable manner. We must push forward aggressively in renewable energy technologies, an area in which Colorado leads the nation.
I deeply admire the people I will serve. I know we can forge a future that makes the best possible use of the innovative vision and immense technological expertise of our people.
I understand the needs of American families. I'm the father of three great kids; as a widower, I understand the challenges of trying to be an effective husband, father, and single parent. I want every child in America to benefit from the best possible education we can provide and educational opportunities that are second to none in the world.
This year all of us matter. We're making historic choices about the future we'll create for ourselves and for our children. I invite you to join me in the journey to making certain that — as part of that effort — Colorado's Congressional District 5 has the representation that truly reflects the character of our people.
I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, April 2nd, at noon, in the Carnegie Room at the Penrose Library, 20 N. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs.
If you'd like to learn more about my campaign in the meantime, or make a donation, please visit my website at www.Bidlack2008.com
Sincerely,
Lt. Col. Hal Bidlack, USAF (Ret)
P.S. We're already looking for volunteers. If interested in becoming part of our exciting campaign team, please e-mail us at info@bidlack2008.com.
beautiful, thanks!
