Go for the jugular

Kevin Phillips : "I believe that Democrats and liberals in 2006 stand to have their greatest opportunity since 1992 (which was lost). You will have the substantial support of many lapsed Republicans and doubters of Bush conservatism like myself. But I also have the sense that many Democrats and liberals have an instinct for the capillaries, not for the jugular. If that leads to failure in 2006, there will be a major price to pay, not just for the United States but in terms of the credibility of your party and movement."-- Josh Marshall

What would Karl do?

Serious Business

This upcoming election to replace Joel Hefley in CO-5 is serious business. We can't afford joke candidates or those unwilling to fight the good fight. I'd rather vote for Dizzy Gillespie.

That's why I think Jay Fawcett is just the guy to take this seat and keep the tide turning to common-sense leaders in Colorado.

Take a look. Max Cleland, John Kerry, Bill Winter and many others liked what they saw. You will too.

This opportunity won't come again in a very long time.

No, this ain't direct action, but it's something.

Just a note, I pick up 760 down here in the Springs just fine, as do many of my friends. I hope they check the ratings here.

Salazar on the Faux News Radar

If Faux News is distorting your statements, then you must be doing something good.

From MediaMatters:

Summary: On Fox News' Special Report with Brit Hume, national security correspondent Bret Baier misrepresented a statement by Sen. Ken Salazar (D-CO) assessing the progress he observed during a trip to Iraq, cropping Salazar's observation that "much of the country remains without infrastructure" and adding a qualifier to the senator's assessment that the Iraqi army is "not yet ready to control its own streets.

Ok, Ken, I'll lay off................for a week.

Republican Food Fight

Go for it, guys.

You are all the most qualified and bestest guys ever to represent the Republican party from Colorado's Fifth. Lionel Rivera is the latest to join the fray:
“I’m the only Republican candidate that has military service,” said Rivera, a former Army captain. “In an area like the 5th Congressional District, that’s very important.”
Hey, wasn't it Lionel Rivera who said Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in returning veterans was overblown? Contrary to the FACTS.

Didn't he question the motives of recently returned vets and other citizens who wanted to help our returning Iraq vets?

Why yes: he did both of those things.

Like many Republicans these days, he made the treatment of our troops a political issue. And he made the phony "support" Republicans always claim a lie so he could reduce their benefits and reduce their care when they come back from putting their lives on the line for US!

I
hope Lionel saw what Republicans do to those who serve: they challenge their service, question if their sacrifices, call their official service records into question, and accuse them of wounding themselves.

Oh, I'm sorry, that's only for Democratic Verterans. Republican Veterans are perfect.

The fight is on to replace Joel Hefley, and may The Best Democrat, or ummmm Republican...........win.
