Republican Food Fight

Go for it, guys.

You are all the most qualified and bestest guys ever to represent the Republican party from Colorado's Fifth. Lionel Rivera is the latest to join the fray:
“I’m the only Republican candidate that has military service,” said Rivera, a former Army captain. “In an area like the 5th Congressional District, that’s very important.”
Hey, wasn't it Lionel Rivera who said Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in returning veterans was overblown? Contrary to the FACTS.

Didn't he question the motives of recently returned vets and other citizens who wanted to help our returning Iraq vets?

Why yes: he did both of those things.

Like many Republicans these days, he made the treatment of our troops a political issue. And he made the phony "support" Republicans always claim a lie so he could reduce their benefits and reduce their care when they come back from putting their lives on the line for US!

I
hope Lionel saw what Republicans do to those who serve: they challenge their service, question if their sacrifices, call their official service records into question, and accuse them of wounding themselves.

Oh, I'm sorry, that's only for Democratic Verterans. Republican Veterans are perfect.

The fight is on to replace Joel Hefley, and may The Best Democrat, or ummmm Republican...........win.

Anyone notice a definite Crank-bias in the Gazette lately. Rivera announces his candidacy and the 'Gah' runs a picture of Crank? There was a story on the front page a few weeks ago smacking John Anderson for not standing during an ovation for Joel Hefley. Front page? Who are these people?!?

Sorry, we stopped reading the Gazette when they reassigned Rich Tosches, our favorite columnist - and the only even slightly liberal one; we read the Denver Post now. The Gazette is so incredibly biased that even on neutral articles they cadge from the AP they manage to insert right-wing spin into the headlines!

The CS Independent, on the other hand, has had some wonderfully penetrating stories on the city council, county commissioners, etc. Stuff that should have been covered by the Gazette if any editor there had journalistic ethics. With apologies to the "fashion editor" or whomever (any editor with no power to assign, edit or simply speak up for city beat reporters).
