That to me said it was the management failures, not the troops.
No one on the left or right is against our troops being safe, having a valid and well-planned mission, and having every single piece of equipment they need.
The troops certainly got the short end of the stick on this deal. We can only hope that all the experience attained by those who have managed to survive under those horendoues conditions, are able to pass on that knowledge to others so that casualtie numbers can decrease. Minor injuries are part of everyday life, and being able to walk away from battle is what should be aimed for. Battle hardened should not be the goal, battle survivors should be.

While the editorial cartoon itself had a very valid point to it, it was kinda tasteless, or was that the intended point.
