More Proof of More Lies and More Incompetence
The first memo circulated among the Bush Administration regarding the threat of Al Qaeda and their impending terror activities has been declassified.
Surprise surprise surprise, Gomer! President Bush ignored the terrorism issue cuz that evil Bill Clinton told him he would have to address it. As we all know, Bush didn't want anything to do with Clinton's policies and issues. How petty, how immature, how ignorant, how incompetent can one person be?
Boy, could Bush use some of those millions of jobs, some of those tax receipts, some of that peace and prosperity that Bill Clinton ushered in.
We also learn that Richard Clarke told the truth. Obviously. And Condi Rice lied. Maliciously.
From the site: The January 25, 2001, memo, recently released to the National Security Archive by the National Security Council, bears a declassification stamp of April 7, 2004, one day prior to Rice's testimony before the 9/11 Commission on April 8, 2004. Responding to claims that she ignored the al-Qaeda threat before September 11, Rice stated in a March 22, 2004 Washington Post op-ed, "No al Qaeda plan was turned over to the new administration."
Guess what? Here's the plan (pdf warning).
Here's a snippet from the 9/11 Commission hearings:
Richard CLARKE: Well, all of the things that we recommended in the plan or strategy -- there's a lot of debate about whether it's a plan or a strategy or a series of options -- but all of the things we recommended back in January were those things on the table in September. They were done. They were done after September 11th. They were all done. I didn't really understand why they couldn't have been done in February. As if we needed more proof. Of course Condi will say it wasn't a plan. And they derided Clinton over the meaning of "is". But it was something. More than the nothing the Bush Administration did prior to 9/11. As if there was any last shred of doubt.
How can Republicans, and this President, be considered tough on terror and better on national security than Democrats? The people are waking up. If they had all the truth contained in these documents, this long national nightmare would be over. Right now.
