50 Governors Agree: Bush Hurting GUARD

Wow, this is truly believable: President Bush's policies are hurting the National Guard.

All 50 Governors of the States agree:
  • Governor Kempthorne of Idaho said the National Guard was bearing "a totally disproportionate share" of proposed cuts in the growth of the Army's budget over the next five years, even as the Guard's responsibilities at home were increasing.
  • Governor Huckaby of Arkansas said: "We are concerned [...] when our troops are deployed for long periods of time, and their equipment goes with them but does not come back."
  • Governor Blanco of Louisiana said: "The Guard played an awesome role. We should be increasing the number of National Guard combat brigades, not reducing it."
  • Governor Sebelius of Kansas said: "We are not only missing National Guard personnel, we are also missing a lot of the equipment that's used to deal with situations at home, day in and day out."
There you have it. And let me be the first to ask: Why do the 50 Governors of the states, 22 Democrats and 28 Republicans, hate America? How did these 50 traitors get elected by their ignorant voters to lead these 50 United States of America? Is George Bush going to have to dissolve the state governments and install political appointees to run these backwater institutions?

Irony is making the longest and most over-acted spetacle of a death since Bruce Willis in Last Man Standing.
