MORE PROOF: Bush Lied About Niger/Uranium
As if we needed more proof, Bush lied about Iraq buying uranium from Niger.
Joseph Wilson exonerated.
Colin Powell knew the truth, knew the president was lying.
But, since they can do nothing else, the Bush Administration sticks to lies.

I think Powell was very uncomfortable with having his credibility used as a screen for the propagation of that piece of disinformation - hence the resignation after the re-election. He would have shown much more courage by resigning rather than giving that speech - but not to be too paranoid, who knows what kinds of pressures he was experiencing at the time. It was a terrible thing to do to him.
