Bush let bin Laden Escape

Larry Johnson, a CIA officer not afraid to speak out, lays it on the line:

The key news from Gary's book is that we had Bin Laden in our sights but Tommy Franks and JSOC Commander, Dell Dailey, dilly dallied and did not deploy U.S. troops requested by Berntsen to the battle at Tora Bora. We could of had him; we should of had him; but we let Bin Laden get away.

Now George Bush can use the threats of rampant terrorist attacks and "they hate us for our freedom" to fire up his scaredy-cat base any time he wants. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Happy New Year, George.

Plame/NSA Loop

From an NSA related RAW Story:

A spokeswoman at the White House who refused to give her name also would not comment, and pointed to a March 3, 2003 press briefing by former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer when questions about U.N. spying were first raised.

"As a matter of long-standing policy, the administration never comments on anything involving any people involved in intelligence," Fleischer said. "So I'm not saying yes and I'm not saying no."

I guess that doesn't include CIA spies trying to stop WMD from coming into our enemy's hands. They lie and lie and lie, and never think anyone will hold them accountable. So far, they're right...............So far.

King George V

Oh highest majesty of this land, please foregive our weakness and our ignorance of your greatness, it is there for all to see. Praise thee high and low:

Henceforth, throughout the land, let him be proclaimed as His Royal Texas-ship, Defender of the Faith, Interpreter of the Constitution, Protector of the SUVs, Guardian of the Malls, Warrior King, Scourge of the Liberals, Bane of the Activist Judges, His Most High Majesty and Most Excellent King George W. the First of Many.

We beseech you, your kingship, to institute a system of hereditary peerage based upon merit and loyalty (i.e., campaign contributions) so that we peasants will have someone to look up to other than the tawdry celebrities on TV. Sir Rush of Bloviation, Sir Karl of Spin, these will be names to conjure with in the future days of dynasty. Perhaps, as a goodwill gesture, you could name Bill Clinton as a knight of the garter belt.

Please, sire, forgive us our petulant Bush-bashing of former days before we realized you wore a crown. Spy on us as much as you want because we understand now that your knowledge of the Constitution is infinitely greater than our own.

Do you think they'll quit bitching about those evil "trial lawyers" after this? They seem to have implemented the Trial Lawyer Full Employment Act of 2006 with their "high moral standards", their "responsibility", and their respect for the "rule of law". If any of these guys get off, they should get down on their hands and knees and kiss the feet of their trial lawyer of choice.
