IF

If you provide health care for all American babies, the crime rate will go down

If you provide adequate shelter for all American babies, the crime rate will go down

If you provide child care for all American babies, the crime rate will go down

If you provide safe food for all American babies, the corporate crime rate will have to go down

If you provide safe medicine for all American babies, the corporate crime rate will have to go down

If you provide safe water for all American babies, the corporate crime rate will have to go down

If you provide safe air for all American babies, the corporate crime rate will have to go down

Thank you, Bill Bennett, for highlighting the priorities of the Republicans: not one of those goals are worthy of their tax cuts being cut.

Salazar: Bush Acts Like a King

"This president, frankly, sometimes acts like a king," Salazar said. "He's imperious. He believes he controls Washington and controls our country, and does so sometimes in a way that, it's his way or the highway, and doesn't take into account what other people are thinking...when they have a different point of view or are (from) a different party."

Then why does Salazar supported most of Bush's nominees? Why does Salazar put up with the Administrations' dismissal and rejection of all ideas on all kinds of issues?

I hope Salazar isn't just realizing this now.

No Delay

Here's hoping Tom doesn't have a get out of jail free card. The rule of law and everything....

Hef, It's Been Nice to Know Ya

Jay Fawcett to run for Hefley's seat.

Hefley famously (well, it should be infamous, maybe Fawcett can make it famous) was one of only 5 black-hearted Republicans voting against a resolution "honoring the life and legacy of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt," praising him for his leadership during the Great Depression and World War II, and for his work to combat polio.

Maybe Hef has really high standards. Then again, maybe not.

Colorado Springs to Katrina Evacuees: Try Denver

27 Sep 2005, COLORADO SPRINGS (AP) - City officials declared they've done enough for hurricane evacuees and have drafted a plan to let a faith-based charity and the NAACP take over relief efforts.

While no one will be denied social services, officials have asked a man who has bused in loads of evacuees to start taking them elsewhere, as officials fear social services will soon be stretched too thin.

"I think we have every reason in the world as a community to be proud of how compassionate we've been," City Manager Lorna Karma said Monday. "But I think we need to say, 'No more.' Or we need to drive them to Denver."
