Kerry on the War Path
The path that led us to war is strewn with lies, muddy, unmarked, and booby-trapped. George Bush likes this path.
George Bush is resolute. Oh boy, the kool-aid drinkers love that resolute-ness. He's tough, heh-heh. He thinks the path we've taken cannot be changed, that would mean he made a mistake. But tough, resolute leaders don't make mistakes, right?
This would burst the bubble if it were true. Bush can't contemplate that.
John Kerry explains the problems with the lies and Bush's inability to come to terms with the truth. And his proclivity for fucking up something even more than it already is: 5 killed today; Iraqi suicide bombers new to the equation; and how we can only lose with torture.
Read it, then take some action. You know what to do - support the man, the words, the truth. There are many ways to do it.
Here are a couple of highlights:
Does the President think that the many generals, former top administration officials and Senators from his own party who have joined over two thirds of the country in questioning the President’s handling of the war in Iraq are all unpatriotic too? (Nah, that's just about the only thing he can say besides just throwing up his hands and admitting failure - Z)
His statement that Democrats saw and heard the same intelligence he did is just flat out untrue (Um, can we say "lie" yet? - Z) - unless of course the President and his Administration didn’t do their job and study the additional intelligence given only to them and not the Congress.
Again he misled America by promising that “If we have to act, we will take every precaution that is possible. We will plan carefully.” He did none of these things.
There you have it: a righteous condemnation of our President by the man who should be President. No sugar-coating, no bullshit. Just the unvarnished truth.
I hope history does its job by both these men.
