Just for the record

White House press briefing October 7, 2003 --

President Bush: "Randy, you tell me, how many sources have you had that's leaked information that you've exposed or have been exposed?"

President Bush: "Probably none."

President Bush: "I mean this town is a -- is a town full of people who like to leak information. And I don't know if we're going to find out the senior administration official. Now, this is a large administration, and there's a lot of senior officials. I don't have any idea."

President Bush: "I'd like to. I want to know the truth. That's why I've instructed this staff of mine to cooperate fully with the investigators -- full disclosure, everything we know the investigators will find out."

President Bush: "I have no idea whether we'll find out who the leaker is -- partially because, in all due respect to your profession, you do a very good job of protecting the leakers. But we'll find out."

Ha friggin' ha. He knew. He was in on the attempt to intimidate and silence members of the press who received the leak. They were all counting on the press to claim journalistic privilege in hiding the guilt of Scooter Libby, Karl Rove, and everyone else involved in the conspiracy to shut up Joe Wilson by ruining his wife's career and cover.

This ain't over. They knew then exactly what they were doing. The president was involved. I just hope it doesn't take 50 years for historians to uncover all the facts.

I would prefer a prosecutor uncover them.........
