Interesting that at this time, there is enough interest in "Winter Soldier" to bring it back. I read the testimony when my right-wing discussion group was reviling Kerry for being involved, and it is both powerful and convincing - as are the substantial citizens (CEO, university professors, pilot, etc - and of course a Senator) who took part in that conference as young veterans. They checked everyone's discharge documents, just in case you have heard the common lie of the Right that all of the testimony was bogus and from people who were never in Vietnam. They were. They told what they saw or did, in most cases, but occasionally what they heard about (which is much less reliable, of course). There was certainly enough first-hand testimony to justify hearings. Good post, Zapatero, and Cindy is more of an inspirational person than I would have thought given the initial coverage. It's very hard to deal with someone dedicated to peaceful resistance and with absolutely nothing more important to do than what she's doing right now.
