Today, a letter writer explains why the President's claim that Social Security is funded by "worthless pieces of paper" is dangerous, wreckless, and ignorant. And the Gazette actually prints it! (scroll down to "Social Insecurity")

Doug. What a moron. Once again we see very bizarre numbers coming from him totally out of context. This man is quite possibly the greediest man on the planet.
Even the Repubs are trying to take him out.
This is a losing issue for the Prez. If they consider his tour 'planting the seed' to destroy Social Security, then it has backfired on him and his minions. They just can't figure out how to lose this one without looking like they are winning.
All that said..... don't give up the fight - they won't.
I think this letter writer plagerized or at least was heavily influenced by an article in Newsweek last week. I read basically the same argument and I'm almost positive that is where it was. It is possible it was The New Republic (online or off)
