Local Hero.......NOT

From MyDD - James Dobson compares the Supreme Court of the United States to the KKK.

Can there be any question that the religio-fascist fundamentalists want a government that looks more like what the Ayatollahs created in Iran and Afghanistan than what our founding fathers created?

more later........if I can calm down.

Update: here is the great liar Dobson live (from Media Matters)

Holy cow. It just amazes me that people listen to this guy AND take him seriously. He mentions both Limbaugh and Hannity (good friend) in on his intro before he talks to the real Mr. Wacko.

Anybody remember what the courts are supposed to do? Judge! They are supposed to be one-third of the government, last time I checked.

These guys will not be happy until the Prez has unlimited power over Congress and the Judiciary.

OH MY GOD!!!

I had to read it to believe it, but to make it worse, I actually clicked on the audio version and had to endure that crap straight from the horses mouth.

It is amazing that people actually listen to this freak. I guess we should just get rid of the law and appoint Dobson as our holy leader.

Oh holy leader, protect us from the evil people who actually think we should all have freedom of speach and should all be equal reguardless of sexual orientation. Amen

The troubling thing to me is when people like us voice our concern over these theocratic overtones, it is turned into a "secular" (used to mean atheist) vs. religious battle. My mom who is a Democrat, but is strongly religious, tends to not see the problem as I do and agrees at times with those who say it is Christianity that is under attack.

Democrats certainly can't win if they are seen as anti-religion...but yet, it is one of the most important battles in decades to hold strong against these attempts to weaken the freedom of religion and separation of church and state. In reality, the religious aspects have a hand in a great portion of the problems facing the country at the moment.

One message that needs to get out is that secular is not the same as atheism. I am an ardent secularist when it comes to the public square, yet I am very spiritual, as are a large number of Democrats.

The entire cabal of the Right is talking about Judges right now. They want a rubber stamp judiciary, and congress.

The reason we have a seperation of Church and State to begin with is to PROTECT religion. Our founding fathers and mothers wanted it that way. Early American theologians wanted it that way.

After coming fresh from Europe where Catholic kings outlawed and killed Protestants and vice versa. So Quakers would be safe from Puritans.

The Judicial Branch enforces laws already on the books. Sometimes they are in the position of making a decision in a Constitutional "grey area". Thats there job. No one is ever going to always agree.

If people do not like it we have a Legislative Branch that is there to assist you in rewriting the laws. Thats how is works. And it is a good system.
